Timeless Agents Series: Honoring the real heroines of WWII
After spending 5 years writing about fictitious resistance women in the Resistance Girl Series, I found my true niche: telling the stories of the real women of SOE’s French Section. This series brings together the two countries I love deeply—Britain and France—and connects me personally to the British agents who were dropped behind enemy lines to support the French Resistance against Nazi Germany.
My journey into this new passion began two years ago during a trip to Beaulieu with my son. Beaulieu, the “finishing school” where SOE agents spent their final weeks before being parachuted into France, became a wellspring of inspiration for me. It was here that I felt an overwhelming desire to honor these 39 remarkable women—not as characters from my imagination, but as the real heroines they were.
Writing The Timeless Agents Series allows me to pay tribute to the women who risked everything, while also leaving space to tell the stories of the equally brave male agents who fought alongside them. Each book weaves together the past and present, with dual timelines connecting the courageous missions of these WWII agents to modern-day women who find themselves drawn to “their” agent’s story.
This series isn’t just a historical endeavor—it’s a deeply personal project, dedicated to preserving the legacies of these unsung heroes and inviting readers to explore their extraordinary lives.
