Hannah with book

Welcome to my little corner of the internet!

Hannah Byron is an acclaimed author of historical fiction centered on WWII resistance women. Born in Paris in the mid-1950s to a British mother and a Dutch father, she grew up with strong ties to France, the UK, and Holland, which continue to inspire her work. Most of her novels are set in Western Europe, where history and culture run deep.

For decades, Hannah balanced life as a mother, university professor, and translator, but now, as a full-time author, she feels she’s finally found her life’s mission. Her author career began in 2010, but after losing her daughter to cancer in 2014, followed by several more challenging years, she needed to step away from the publishing world. It wasn’t until 2020 that she returned with renewed energy and a fresh perspective.

Her work focuses on resistance movements and romance set during WWII—subjects Hannah feels deeply connected to. Readers often describe her novels as gripping, deeply emotional, and impossible to put down.

Today, Hannah enjoys working alongside her eldest son, who manages the business side of her author career. As a proud grandmother, she treasures family time with all her heart. But writing stories is what has sustained her through it all.
